Well, here I am, two days before flying home. shoulda figured from last year that I wouldn’t keep up with the blog, but there you go. So, assorted pics from the last couple of weeks!
I will eventually figure out the entire timeline of all of this, but basically: we drink beer.
Ok ok… We spent a day in Wurzburg, seeing sights and enjoying the most excellent biergardens… Biked south from there, off the Main River and over hills onto the Romantic Road, a series of picturesque towns down into Bavaria. (More beer)
Trouble in the hills as my front shifter packed it in completely, so in Rothenburg (very picturesque town) I tracked down a new one, which is actually an old used one, which doesn’t match the old one at all, so I now have a Frankenbike. Which works!
A few more stops along the way, then we trained over to Munich to take in a little of that Octoberfest feel. Also tried to find Team Germany World Cup jerseys, but there apparently isn’t one to be had in all of Germany!
Marty had to bid us adieu (alf wedersain?) after Munich though, so he took a 5:30 am train back to Frankfurt, and Scott and I grabbed a 6am train to Salzburg. We spent a couple of days there, taking in Mozart statues and concerts, and I also took in a four hour Sound of Music tour around the area, with a perky English hostess forcing everyone on the bus to sing along to every song along the way… Actually kinda fun, but I have had that damn Goatherd yodeling song in my head for the last week now, dammit!
